Mrs. Moleyne James Wood, 88, a resident of Trinity Oaks, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Trinity Oaks. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Judy White will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood was born June 2, 1919 in Kannapolis, NC. She was a daughter of the late Callie Clyde James and Ila Huie James. She graduated from J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. She worked for Avon as a District Sales Manager from early in 1950 until early 1970. In the early 70's, she became a Real Estate Sales Agent joining Thornton Realty Company in Macon, GA, where she had resided since 1962. In 1981, Mrs. Wood retired to live in London, Ontario Canada where she resided until returning to her roots in North Carolina in 2002. Mrs. Wood was well known throughout her life for her sense of humor, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and love of her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Jim Smith, John Medlin, Sr. and Stanley Wood; and a son, James Michael Smith. Mrs. Wood is survived by son, John Robert "Bob" Medlin, Jr. wife Janet of Dallas, TX; daughter-in-law, Bert Smith Burnham of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Katie Medlin, Michael Medlin, Catherine Smith, and Lynne Smith Lane. She is also survived by her dear friend Martin Griffin of Kannapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 416 E. 1st Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
