Nannie Troutman Hartis

October 20, 1910 — April 26, 2005

Mrs. Nannie "Nan" Troutman Eagle Hartis, 94, a resident of Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis and formerly of Irish Potato Road, Rockwell, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Transitional Health Services. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. The Rev. Karen Kaser Odor will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of a daughter, Jeanette Weatherman, 5487 Irish Potato Road, Kannapolis. Born October 20, 1910, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late William Manlus Albert Troutman and Ida Jane Wensil Troutman. She retired several years ago from the weave room of Cannon Mills, Plant Four. She was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Senior Choir at Cannon Memorial YMCA in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Lee Andrew Eagle, who died August 4, 1974 and Willie "Bill" Jefferson Hartis, who died April 22, 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette Eagle Weatherman and husband, Doyle, of Kannapolis and Marjorie Eagle Long of Concord; a brother, W. C. "Bill" Troutman of China Grove; three grandchildren, Patsy Weatherman Caudill and husband, Lester, of Kannapolis, Nancy Weatherman Cooke and husband, Clayton, of Boone, and Bob Weatherman and wife, Cheryl, of Concord; six great-grandchildren, Aprille Caudill Bell and husband, Tim, of China Grove, Heather Caudill Puckett and husband, Chris, of Kannapolis, Barrett Cooke and wife, Cassandra, of Huntersville, Jennifer Cooke of New Bern, Katie Weatherman and Amy Weatherman, both of Concord; a two great-great-grandchildren, T. J. and Isaac Bell. Memorials may be sent to Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury-Concord Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
