Naomi Lowder Barnette

Mrs. Naomi Estelle Lowder Barnette, 78, of 2105 Swan Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The. Rev. Vaudry Tucker and the Rev. Robert Barnette will officiate. Interment will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born June 2, 1928, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Allen Lowder and Dora Williams Lowder. She formerly worked in the spinning room of Cannon Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Geraldine Seal, Edna Hayes, Carol Edwards and Alice Denton; and a brother, Allen Lowder, Jr. Survivors include her husband, Solomon F. Barnette of the home; two foster-children, Fredrick Spencer of Phoenix, AZ and Catherine Keener of Shallotte, NC; and a sister, Hazel Ewing of Kannapolis.
