Mrs. Naomi Garlene Troutman, 83, of Weddington Road, Concord, died Friday April 9, 2010 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Funeral services for Mrs. Troutman will be conducted Monday, April 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Pitts Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. Mrs. Troutman was born in Cabarrus County on October 30, 1926, a daughter of the late, Tom Talbert and Lottie Brown Talbert. She retired from Jackson Training School, where she was supervisor over the food service. She was a member of Pitts Baptist Church, where she greatly enjoyed teaching the children in Sunday school. Among her other interests, were her love of cooking and caring for her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Troutman and Ralph Shinn; four sisters, Annie Talbert, Lois Sanders, Margaret Love and Helen Fink; and a brother, Willie Talbert. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Graves of Concord and Clara Goodman of Alabama; Dawn Roland of Concord; and a number of nieces and nephews.
