Ned Eugene Plott, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Five Oaks Manor.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 30, 2015, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Father Joseph Dionne C.Ss.R. will officiate. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mr. Plott was born November 4, 1934 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Hugh Franklin Plott and Gertrude Kimray Plott. He worked for A & P Supermarket for over 40 years as a market manager in the meat department. He was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Ned enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was an avid college basketball fan, especially for the UNC Tarheels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daphne Honeycutt Plott; and two brothers, Hoyle F. Plott and Coy W. Plott.
Mr. Plott is survived by his three sons, Stephen E. Plott and wife, Debra, and Mark Wayne Plott and wife, Melissa, all of Concord and John Edward Plott and wife, Jibbe, of Salisbury; sister, Margaret P. Biles of Concord; six grandchildren, Hillary Plott, Matthew Plott and wife, Amanda, Joshua Plott and wife, Stephanie, Jared Overcash, Isaac Carter and wife, Carmen, and Ahnika Plott; and great grandson, Bryson Overcash.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Five Oaks Manor for the care Mr. Plott received.
