Nell Lipe Tedder

Nell Lipe Tedder, age 94, a resident of St. Andrews Living Center, Concord and formerly of Kannapolis, died Saturday July 24, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast. Funeral services for Nell will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steven Ayers will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m. Nell was born in Troutman on June 11, 1916, a daughter of the late, John Alexander Lipe and Nancy Lou Ada Overcash Lipe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Shelby Jean Gurley and June Gurley Brooks and one son, Eddie Crowell Gurley. Survivors include one brother, Ray Woodard "Buddy" Lipe of Morganton and a sister, Fay Lipe Cook of Concord; daughter-in-law, Delanda Gurley, of Kannapolis; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
