Nellie Goodnight Karriker

Mrs. Nellie Goodnight Karriker, 91, formerly of Birch Street, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at Deal's Care Inn, following a number of years of declining health and six days of serious illness. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Pethel will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Karriker was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late John Wesley Goodnight and Ada Williams Goodnight. She retired from the spinning room of Cannon Mills. Survivors include son, Bobby Goodnight of Kannapolis; daughter, Linda Hodge of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Alvin Parham, Michael Hodge and Chris Goodnight; and great-grandchildren, Caitlin Hodge and Grayson Huffstetler.
