Nicholas Beachum Duncan

Mr. Nicholas Beachum "Nick" Duncan, 73, of Highway 153, China Grove, NC, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at his home after ten months of declining health and six weeks of serious illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 7:30 PM Monday, April 14, 2003, at Kannapolis West "A" Church of God. Rev. Sam Crisp and Rev. James Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow at 11:00 AM Tuesday in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM at the church on Monday. Mr. Duncan was born May 18, 1929 in McDowell County, NC. He was a son of the late Lonnie Mack Duncan and Myrtle Walker Duncan. He retired from Fieldcrest Cannon in Kannapolis and was formerly employed with Douglas Aircraft in Charlotte and General Electric in Salisbury. He was a member of Kannapolis West "A" Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, O.C. Duncan. Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Maudine Flowers Duncan; daughter, Donna D. Sustar of Laurel Springs, NC; son, David Alan Duncan of Kannapolis; two sisters, Doris Marshall of Anderson, SC, Lorie Noble of Richmond, VA; brother, Fred B. Duncan of Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Lonnie Mack Duncan, II of Rockwell, NC, Josh Alan Duncan of Albemarle, NC, and Lindsay Nicole Sustar of Laurel Springs, NC; and five great grandchildren.
