Mrs. Norma Jean Bame Cranford, 83, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, in Rockwell.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2515 E. Innes Street, Salisbury. Rev. Stanley Cline and Rev. Roland Mills will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cranford was born October 13, 1937 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Charles Hoke Bame and Juanita Williams Bame. She was a charter member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She spent her younger years as a homemaker, then later worked as a seamstress for Leisure Lads, Ithica Corp. and Pioneer Manufacturing. She also worked in the cafeteria at Rockwell Christian School. Norma taught herself how to play piano as an adult, after only a few lessons she received at age 9. She often played piano and the organ at Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was active in the Lady's Missionary Group, the Children's Awana program and the Children's Mailbox Bible Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jon Mark Henrickson; her sister, Carolyn B. Hillard; and a grandson, Jason Henrickson.
Mrs. Cranford is survived by her husband of 54 years, Zimmie Colin "Buck" Cranford; five children, Perry Dean Henrickson and wife Shirley, Tamara Loggins and husband Wesley, Cheryl Henrickson, Phillip Cranford and Sarah Stosen; seven grandchildren, Mindy Nall (Vance), Nicole Sweeny (Ashley), Meghan Loggins (Chris) Karmin Cranford, Preston Mood (Nikki) Alexandra Stosen and Destiny Haynes; and 10 great grandchildren.
