Ola Lucille Harris Morris, went home to be with her Lord on August 24, 2004. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Ken Savage will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Born August 13, 1916, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Reverend John Seymour Harris and Minnie Lou Brooks Harris. She attended Stanly County schools. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayland Franklin Morris, Sr., in May of 1960. She and Wayland were charter members of Brookdale Baptist Church in Concord where they operated the Community Grocery Store. After Wayland's untimely death, Ola held a variety of positions to support her family. She delighted in her years cooking for children at Brookdale Baptist Church's Day Care. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters, leaving her younger sister, Veda Mae Harris Sanford as the last surviving child of John and Minnie Harris. She leaves behind her children and their families, Bobby Martin Morris and Joyce Weaver Morris of Kannapolis, Mary Juanita Morris Hoffman of Charlotte, Carolyn Morris Barrier and Avery of Greensboro, Donald Tilford Morris and Janice Cochran Morris of Harrisburg, Wayland Franklin Morris, Jr. and Kay Lee Morris of Wilmington, Delaware, Imeldia Morris Eller of Charlotte, Sharron Morris Ratchford of Charlotte, John Stanley Morris of Concord and Susan Morris Orsini and Tony of Savannah, Georgia. She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild, Stephen, Mallory and Hunter Morris, Donna Jean Morris, Stacey Hoffman, Kenneth and Robert Stephens, Janine and Travis Hinson, Liesl Carlson, Micah Noah, Daniel and Mary Draffin, Jamie, Todd, Holly, Joseph and Samuel McWilliams, Max, Jo Ellen, John, Adam and Alison Hargett, Jerry, Glenda and Allison Hargett, Ginger and Richard Osborne, Sandra, Jeri Michell, Jaylen, Billy Joe Smith, Dana, David and Bethany Mullis, Lori Morris, Michelle, Rusty, Taylor and McKenzie Pederson, Trent Morris, Lanny and Megan Morris, Chris Eller, Kathleen and Tyler Ratchford, Donald, Wren and Owen Orsini, David Orsini, and Carmela Orsini. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ola leaves behind a vast legacy of love and laughter and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
