Olivia Sox Barnes

Mrs. Olivia Sox Barnes, 92, a resident of Universal Healthcare in Concord and formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, October 24, 2005, at the nursing center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sarah Weaver will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born March 9, 1913, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Willard R. Sox and Myrtle B. Sox. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Henry Thornton Barnes, preceded her in death on February 16, 1975. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Blevins Larson of Surf City and Linda Iacona of Amityville, Long Island, NY; a brother, Willard Sox of Burlington; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
