Oscar Edward Henderson

Mr. Oscar Edward "Edd" Henderson, 92, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Dogwood Forest in Alpharetta, GA.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Bethpage United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Portis will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 pm Saturday at the Bethpage Fellowship Hall.

Mr. Henderson was born June 9, 1923 in Kannapolis. He was a son of late Marshall William Henderson and Lela Beatrice Walker Henderson. He retired in 1984 from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a member of the Allen-Graham Masonic Lodge and was a former volunteer with the Enochville Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death one sister, Virginia H. Smith; and three brothers, Eugene, Leonard and Clyde Henderson.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, Doris Richardson Henderson; daughter, Karen Young and husband Kenneth of Alpharetta, GA; and granddaughter, Kristen Elyse Payne and husband Danny Payne and great grandsons, Luke and Troy Payne all of of Roswell, GA.

Memorials may be sent to the Bethpage United Methodist Church, 109 Fellowship Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
