Mrs. Patricia Ann Harwood Aycock, 87, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her home in China Grove.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randall Ritchie will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Aycock was born April 3, 1934 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late James Franklin Harwood and Dezzie Lee Holt Harwood, whom she cherished.
She was a faithful member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Kannapolis, prior to a chronic illness. She held a variety of jobs during her lifetime, lastly as a secretary at her husband's business. With an inherited cooking talent, she was known for great recipes, especially baked items. A loving mother, she was also affectionately known as either Branny or Grandma Ann to her grandchildren. Energetic, independent and intelligent, she was a courageous and inspirational person to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Cecil E. "Gene" Aycock, Sr.; and daughter, Frankie A. Linker; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Aycock is survived by daughter, Mary Hall of Salisbury; son, Erik "Sonny" Griffen of China Grove; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
