Patti Sue Roberts Smith

Patti Sue Roberts Smith, 65, of 330 N. Beaver Street, Landis, died Thursday, January 20, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center, following a number of years of declining health and a serious illness of two and one half weeks. A private graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis. The Rev. Jarrod Lanning will officiate at both services. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service on Sunday. At other times they will be at the home of a sister, Judy Davis, 326 N. Beaver Street, Landis. Born November 21, 1939 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of Roy B. Roberts of Landis and the late Maude Turner Roberts. She retired following 26 years of employment at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord where she was a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Landis High School and Rowan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She attended Wingate University and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors in addition to her father include a son, Scott Smith and his wife, Lara, of Landis; a daughter, Judy S. Dawson and her husband, Deac, of Indian Trail; four sisters, Becky R. Drye of Faith, Nancy R. Adkins, Linda R. Sorrow and Judy R. Davis, all of Landis; three brothers, Jerry A. Roberts of Mooresville, Don M. Roberts of Asheville and David A. Roberts of Landis; and two grandchildren, Dylan Dawson and Nick Dawson.
