Paul Douglas Ballard

Mr. Paul Douglas Ballard, 69, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at NC State Veteran's Home in Salisbury after a lengthy battle with diabetes.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Roper will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis

Mr. Ballard was born October 27, 1942 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Lewis Charles Ballard and Pauline Wheless Ballard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam. He worked as an electrician in commercial construction.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronald Olyn Ballard, Robert Louis Ballard and Larry Eugene Ballard.

Mr. Ballard is survived by his sister, Linda Jacobs and her husband James of Leland; two sisters-in-law, Doris T. Ballard of China Grove and Janice P. Ballard of North Wilkesboro; three nephews, Larry Ballard, Jr. of Charlotte, Ronald Todd Ballard of North Wilkesboro and Robert DaRon Jacobs and his wife Amy of Leland; and his very special friend, Jane S. Robinson of Charlotte.
