Funeral Service
A funeral service is scheduled for 12:30 pm Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Charity Baptist Church. Pastor Sean Heady and Pastor Jacob Cibas will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm Wednesday at Charity Baptist Church.
Buddy was born March 22, 1934 in Danville, VA. He was a son of the late Paul Washington Hines and Pearl Cylena Chapman Hines. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church, as well as the Oasis Shrine Club, Hornets Nest Car Club and the VFW Post 8989. In his earlier years, he worked as a mechanic at Hilbish Ford and later retired from Pillowtex where he worked in the Machine Shop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Kaye Campbell Hines; two sisters, Betty Scarborough and Jo Carol Sloop; four brothers, Kenneth Hines, Harold Hines, Herbert Hines and James Hines.
Buddy is survived by his son, Paul Hines (Jeanie) of China Grove; daughter, Cindy Sloop of Salisbury; sister, Doris DeBoe of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Justin Hines (Angie), Joshua Hines (Mandy), Ronald Sloop (Rebekah), Wendy Cook (Jeremy) and Chad Ludwick (Tara); 13 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
