Paul Howell Wise

Paul Howell Wise, 58, of 3111 Mockingbird Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083 died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Charity Baptist Church. The Rev. R. J. Hammond and the Rev. Gene Beaver will officiate. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis. At other times they will be at the home of his son, Jason Wise, 1039 Westlake Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Born January 6, 1947, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of C. Winfred Wise and Ethel Howell Wise of Kannapolis. He was Director of Fabrication with Richard Childress Racing. He was affiliated with many NASCAR teams during his career. He was raised in Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church and attended Truth Temple and Charity Baptist Church. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jean Wise, February 14, 1975. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Barbara Austin Wise; a son Jason Paul Wise and wife, Brittany Cromer Wise, and granddaughter, Jayleigh Austyn Wise of Kannapolis; a sister, Anne W. Watts and husband Charles, of Raleigh; two brothers, Phil Wise and wife, Lynda, of Kannapolis and Mark Wise and wife, Darlene, of Raleigh; and 13 nieces and nephews.
