Mrs. Pearl Edna Harless Hamby, age 88, of Guinn Avenue, died Sunday July 27, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Curtis Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Hamby was born July 13, 1920 in Wilkes County, a daughter of the late Thomas Harless and Candis Miller Harless. She was a homemaker and also retired from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, Plant One. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Hamby. Survivors include her son, Thomas Hamby of Kannapolis; a brother, Bill Harless of Georgia; three sisters, Gladys Staley and Mary Spicer, both of Wilkesboro, and Betty Severt of St. Augustine Fla.
