Mrs. Pearl Lillian Wensil Teate, 95, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Five Oaks Manor.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 pm Sunday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Teate was born on May 1, 1918 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of Pearl Jackson Wensil and Laura VanPelt Wensil. She enjoyed working in her garden and growing flowers. She also liked to play cards. Mrs. Teate was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Tribble Teate; four sisters, Evelyn Efird, Wilma Love. Bang Bright and Mabel Funderburke; and four brothers, Bill, Bud, John and Wilbur Wensil.

Mrs. Teate is survived by her son, David Samuel Teate, of Kannapolis; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Adam Teate.
