Mrs. Peggy Wallace Black Chandler, 81, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016, at her residence.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Monday, July 18, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Rev. Kirk Tutterow will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 2:45 pm Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Chandler was born June 25, 1935 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Bonner B. Black and Jonsie Fisher Black. As a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1956, Peggy was one of only six women to graduate from their pharmacy program that year. As a pharmacist she worked for over 40 years with Revco/CVS pharmacies.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband, Max Chandler; daughter, Lynn Bertino and husband Rob of Raleigh; son, Scott Chandler and wife Kelly of Kannapolis; two grandsons, Max Chandler, II and Johnny Hodge.
