Peggy Joann Christy Hughes

Mrs. Peggy Joann Christy Hughes, 74, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011, at her residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Crown Pointe Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Beaver and Rev. Charlie Littlejohn will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Tuesday at Crown Pointe Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Mrs. Hughes was born June 29, 1937 in Iredell County. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Hugh Christy and Margie Wade Christy. Mrs. Hughes was a member at Crown Pointe Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls and most of all loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband L. C. Hughes; two daughters, Kim Trivette and husband, Jeff of Kannapolis and Shelia Kerr and husband, Alan of Mooresville; two sisters, Lois Rayfield of Rockwell and Pamela Rodgers of Enochville; two brothers, Donald Christy of Rock Hill, SC and Keith Christy of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Caleb, Michael and Marcie.
