Peggy Morgan Hooks

Ms. Peggy Morgan Hooks, 69, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeffrey Rushing will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. Ms. Hooks was born October 21, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Walter Morgan and Annie McGraw Morgan. She worked for Pillowtex in the Sheet Dept. as an inspector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Cauble. Ms. Hooks is survived by her daughter, Sonia Gentle of Concord; son, Eric Hooks of Concord; two sisters, Frances Irby of Pine Bluff, NC and Betty Parrish of Charlotte; brother, Earl Morgan of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Jill Troutman, Nicole Rankin, Cameron Gentle and Melissa Pressley; and four great grandchildren, Megan Gentle, Jason Pressley, Jacob Pressley and "soon to be" London Troutman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
