Peggy Joyce Patterson Yon

Mrs. Peggy Joyce Patterson Yon, 89, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, July 11, 2019, at Central Baptist Church. Rev. Curtis Parker and Rev. Allen Reid will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yon was born March 17, 1930 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Fred Allen Patterson and Mable Louise Hayer Patterson. Mrs. Yon worked as a bookkeeper before her retirement. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for more than 60 years, and taught Sunday School and ministered to shut-ins for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ira Pearson Yon; sister, Shirley P. Earley; and brother, Fred Allen Patterson, Jr.

Mrs. Yon is survived by daughter, Brenda Spaetti and husband Leonard of Kannapolis; granddaughter, DeAnna Carpenter and husband John of China Grove; grandson, Michael Spaetti and wife Jennifer of Salisbury; great grandson, Elijah Carpenter; great granddaughter, Reagan Carpenter; and sister, Colleen P. Eagle of Kannapolis.
