Peggy Virginia Tucker

Mrs. Peggy Virginia Hanes Tucker, 72, of Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville, and a former resident of Kannapolis, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Mrs. Tucker was born September 24, 1936 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Lenzy Hanes and Eunice Ballard Hanes. She was a retired employee of Cannon Mills. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Haas of Granite Falls, and Debbie Desrosiers of Hickory; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Tucker; and two sons, Jeff Barnett and Randy Sigmon. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Honeycutt officiating. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service.
