Phyllis Elmyra Baxter Beaver

Mrs. Phyllis Elmyra Baxter Beaver, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Upright will officiate. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beaver was born September 27, 1942 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Marvin Doyle Baxter and Helen Moose Baxter. She formerly worked for Terry Products and Cannon Mills, and later retired from the Salisbury Country Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Grey “Don” Beaver; brother, Michael Dallas Baxter; and one grandson, Hayden Lynn Miller.

Mrs. Beaver is survived by two daughters, Sharon Lawing and husband Mark and Debbie Beaver Miller, both of Kannapolis; son, Gregory Scott Beaver and wife Janice of Chapin, SC; seven grandchildren, Jason Odom (Erin), Mark Yow, Zack Lawing, Haley Lawing, Holden Miller, Brandon Moose, Ashlyn Moose (Joe); three great grandchildren, Nolan Miller, Adalynn Patrick and Niya Kerr sister, Charlotte Baxter Boateng and husband Adu Gyanfi of Concord; brother, Marvin Doyle “Sonny” Baxter, Jr. and wife Karen of Mooresville; and many other family members whom she loved.

Mom, you have given so much and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, loving us, and always, always paving the way for us. We will work hard to reach the standard you set. Farewell sweet mama. You were simply magnificent.
