Phyllis James Douglas, 62, of 6201 Hilltop Avenue, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Scott Pace will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of a nephew, John Petrea, 4638 Barrier Road, Concord. Born February 20, 1943, in Concord, she was a daughter of the late Lacy Thomas James and Frances Marie Upright James. She was employed as a nursing assistant in area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Morrow Fink; and a sister, Kay Frances James. Survivors include her husband, Duncan Alexander Douglas; a son, Richard Wayne Morrow of Kannapolis; a sister, Judy Petrea of China Grove; a brother, Larry Thomas James of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Christina Purvis and Brett White; and a great-granddaughter, Heather Purvis.
