Mrs. Phyllis Ann Hartsoe Carter, 72, entered Heaven in the arms of her Heavenly Father, Monday, January 23, 2012, at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Kannapolis Church of God. Rev. Barbara Watkins will officiate. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. Mrs. Carter was born July 7, 1939 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Wilson Hartsoe, Sr. and Belle Rash Hartsoe. She worked at Cannon Mills, as a telephone operator at the former Concord Telephone Company and as a cashier at K & W Cafeteria. Phyllis was a member of Kannapolis Church of God and enjoyed reading her Bible and watching and listening to gospel music. She enjoyed attending church when able. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Elmer Wilson Hartsoe, Jr. Mrs. Carter is survived by daughter, Ann Marie Edgison of the home; brother, Gwyn David Hartsoe and his wife, Rachel all of Kannapolis; dear friend of 65 years, Elaine Scott and her faithful canine companion, Trissy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lady's Funeral Home, 268 N Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083 to assist with funeral expenses.
