Mrs. Polly Ann Wallace Mangum, 72, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Fulp will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Polly was born March 18, 1952 in Statesville. She was a daughter of the late Ronday Verman Wallace and Elsie Newsome Wallace. Polly owned and operated P.A.M. Flag Car Service. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell. Polly enjoyed playing Bingo, working jigsaw puzzles and also loved the beach and going fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Verman Carlton Wallace.
Polly is survived by her husband of 56 years, William E. Mangum; daughter, Lisa Preslar of Salisbury; son, Stephen Mangum and wife Mechelle of China Grove; sister, Grace Janet Barnette and husband Sonny of Kannapolis; two brothers, David Wallace and Joseph M. Wallace, both of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Alicia Castro, Hannah Preslar, Justin Garmon and wife Jamie, Kaitlyn Mangum and Cameron Preslar; and a great grandson, Noah Garmon.
