Rachael Ann Francis

Miss Rachael Ann Francis, 38, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Kannapolis.

Miss Francis was born December 11, 1987 in Albany, GA. She was a daughter of William Ronald Francis, III and Paulette Renny Ruth Francis, both of Matthews.

Rachael was a vibrant soul and loved many things: care bears, unicorns, rainbows, anything that brought a smile to anyone's face. She loved cats and being outdoors, which came together perfectly in her hiking trips with her cat, Scout. Rachael enjoyed musicals, theater, traveling, and board games. Sunflowers were her favorite. Rachael loved chocolate and baking, and was an avid reader, writer, and artist.

Her love for the arts, nature, and her passion for children showed in all things she did in life. Her life and career's journey took her to Japan, where she taught English to the students there and immersed herself in the culture. Rachael enjoyed being surrounded by the beauty Japan held, listening to traditional music and watching traditional theater. Takarazuka was one of her favorites. After returning back to the states, she began her work with her physical therapy assistant degree with Carolina Therapeutics. Rachael loved working with children and providing a vital step for them to flourish in their daily lives.

In addition to her parents, Miss Francis is survived by two brothers, William Ronald Francis, IV and wife Michelle of Kannapolis, and Joshua Paul Francis and wife Lauren of Edgewater, MD; and two nieces, Penelope and Elowen.
