Rachel Morton Little

Mrs. Rachel Morton Little, 83, of 510 West 21st Street, Kannapolis, NC died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Big Elm Nursing Center after four years of declining health and one week of serious illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Jernigan will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mrs. Little. Mrs. Little was born June 13, 1919 in Stanly County, NC. She was a daughter of the late George Ellis Morton and Rosa Lee Smith Morton. She retired in 1982 from Cannon Mills Plant 1, # 6 Weave Room. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Little is survived by her husband, Floyd Samuel "Sam" Little; son, Rick Little and his wife, Sheri, of Belmont, NC; sister, Carrie Lee Gilbert of Oakboro, NC; five brothers, Hobert Morton, Warren Morton and Reece Morton, all of Oakboro, NC, Vance Morton of Stanfield, NC and Bruce Morton of Anson County, NC.
