Rashad Yahya Rashada

Mr. Rashad Yahya Rashada, 80, passed away Friday, September 16, 2022, in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is scheduled for 9:00 am Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Salisbury National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Rashada was born September 21, 1941 in Milford, DE. He was a son of the late John Isaac Thompson and Cassie Lee Robinson Thompson. He was of the Islamic faith. He enjoyed jogging, walking, and working in his yard. He loved his wife's homemade banana pudding, watching the news on TV, and traveling, especially to the "Thousand Miles of Ice." But, foremost, he enjoyed spending valuable time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Anthony Bradford; two sisters, Annie McDaniel and Irene Brittingham; two brothers, Tyrone Thompson and Willie James Thompson; sister-in-law, Caron Thompson; and brother-in-law, Joshua Brittingham.

Mr. Rashada is survived by his wife, Jameelah Rashada; two daughters, Rashada S. Rashada of Concord and Rasheeda L. Rashada of Midland; son, Terry Smith of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Sayyid Y. Gibson, Kameelah B. Fenderson and Amayah A. Dudley; one great grandchild, Sahara S. Gibson; and four sisters, Ivery Worthy, Rosa Pettyjohn and Charlotte Thompson, all of Delaware and Vynella Delesline of Wilmingon.
