Ray Daniel Allman

Mr. Ray Daniel Allman, 91, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at his home.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Duane Melton will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Allman was born October 23, 1925 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late James Mack Allman and Bessie Honeycutt Allman. He retired from Cannon Mills where he was a machine fixer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Following his retirement, he enjoyed farming, and raising and selling vegetables. He also loved Country and Gospel music, along with dancing, and on occasions, singing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Allman in 1998; one brother, Arthur Allman; seven sisters, Juanita Pethel, Margarete Broadway, Deemie Kennerly, Johnsie Copley, Nellie Sechler, Dot Seaford and Eula Rumple.

Mr. Allman is survived by a sister, Evelyn Brown; and a number of nieces and nephews.
