Ray Ted Lewis

Bishop Ray Ted Lewis, 79, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, at his residence.

A funeral service is scheduled for 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Enochville Church of God. Bishop Rick Brackett and Bishop Dr. David West will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 pm Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

Interment will be at 11:00 am Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Bishop Lewis was born October 27, 1936 in Iredell County. He was a son of the late Oneve Lewis and Della Billings Lewis. He was a retired Church of God Minister sharing His word for 50 years. He was a member of Enochville Church of God.

Bishop Lewis, in addition to his parents, is preceded in death by three sisters, Eunice Lewis, Ruth Elmore and Carolyn Bottoms; and a brother, Glenn Lewis.

Bishop Lewis is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” Brackett Lewis; two daughters, Teresa Lewis Denton of Davidson and Rebecca Lewis of Concord; son, Stephen Lewis and wife Tonya of Macclesfield, NC; two sisters, Lois Miller and husband Bill of Mooresville, NC and Martha King and husband Jerry of Coolemee, NC; two brothers, David Lewis and wife Diane and Jerry Lee Lewis and Neva, all of Statesville, NC; four grandchildren, Matthew Denton and wife Sylvia of Concord, NC, Christopher Lewis of Rocky Mount, NC, Joshua Denton of Davidson, NC and Angel Lewis of Macclesfield, NC.
