Ray Eugene Russell, Sr.

Mr. Ray Eugene Russell, Sr., 88, of 402 N. East Avenue, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, April 28, 2008, at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. Mr. Russell was born October 6, 1919 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Stephin Carl Russell and Hattie McCain Rusell Wishon. He retired from Cannon Mills in 1982 where he worked as a supervisor in the Packaging Department of Plant One. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Beaver Pittman American Legion, Poston Perkins VFW 8989 and was a past Commander of the VFW. Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Frances Hathcock Russell; daughter, Ginger Lee Russell of Kannapolis; son, Ray E. Russell, Jr. of Kannapolis; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
