Raymond Lee Parks

Mr. Raymond Lee Parks, 84, of Wright Road, Kannapolis, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Bethpage Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Darryl Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall at the church. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born August 18, 1923 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late H. Glenn Parks and Eula Freeze Parks. He retired from the Machine Shop of Cannon Mills, Plant Four. Raymond was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Parks; and two brothers, Bennett Parks and Hugh Parks. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Smith Parks; a daughter, Rhonda Jones and husband, Patrick, of Kannapolis; three brothers, Arnold Parks, Harold Parks and Kermit Parks, all of Kannapolis; and two granddaughters, Heather Jones and Lisa Jones.
