Mrs. Rebecca "Kookie" Ann Coxey Benfield, 59, of 2421 Lane Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J.E. Earwood will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at 2502 Brookside Ave., Kannapolis Mrs. Benfield was born October 7, 1944, in Iredell County. She was a daughter of the late John A. Coxey and Docia Cross Coxey. She was a member of God's Tabernacle and a former Fieldcrest-Cannon employee. Mrs. Benfield is survived by her husband, Eric "Delane" Benfield; daughter, Celena "Dee Dee" Graham of Kannapolis; son, Eric Scott Benfield of China Grove; sister, Marcella "Sis" C. Walters of Kannapolis; brothers, Cecil Vernon Coxey of Weaverville, Robert "Buddy" Coxey of Cleveland, and Terry "Mickey" Coxey of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren.
