Mrs. Rebecca Ruth Jester McHargue, 82, of 3397 Camp Julia Road, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, June 25, 2006, at First Wesleyan Church. Dr. Forbis Kivett, Rev. Wayne Pruesz and Rev. Trent Patterson will officiate. Burial will follow at Gold Hill Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Mrs. McHargue was born June 5, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN. She was a daughter of the late Clarence Dudley Jester and Grace Farmer Jester. She was the owner and operator of Christian Supply Shoppe in Kannapolis. She was a ministers wife for over 40 years in which she was her husbands right hand. She was member of Beulah Heights Wesleyan Church in Troutman and attended First Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis. She followed her husband faithfully as he pastored at Liberty Pilgrim in Mocksville, Fayetteville Pilgrim, Spray Pilgrim in Eden, Siler City Pilgrim, Elkin Wesleyan, North Kannapolis Wesleyan and Beulah Heights Wesleyan. Mrs. McHargue is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles W. McHargue; two daughters, Kristi Brown and husband, Thad, of Concord and Vange Gardner and husband, Chris, of Kannapolis; two sons, Brad McHargue and wife, Janis, of Greensboro and Tim McHargue of Berea, KY; a brother, Sam Jester of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Philip and Caitlyn Gardner, Noland, Gretchen and Emma Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Camp Wesley Building Fund, PO Box 1116, Kannapolis, NC 28082.
