Rex Allen Howell

Mr. Rex Allen Howell, 55, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Lady�s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Blevins and Rev. Ronnie Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Monday at Lady�s Funeral Home.

Mr. Howell was born December 20, 1956 in Ashe County. He was a son of the late Edward Doyle Howell and Betty Ilene Conner Howell. He was employed by Tyson Foods until he became disabled. He was a member of Bristol Baptist Church in Jefferson. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was Tony Stewart's #1 fan.

In addition to his parents, Rex is preceded in death by a brother, James Howell and four sisters, Geneva Johnson, Janlane Johnson, Shirley Campbell and Avanell Miller.

Rex is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Guffey of Mooresville and Kimberly Howell of China Grove; three sisters, Ruth Shepherd of Kannapolis, Katherine Jennings of Wilkesboro and Patricia Reynolds of Concord; four brothers, Joe Howell of China Grove, Orne Howell of Sparta, Stephen and Wayne Howell, both of Wilkesboro; and three grandchildren, Elijah Guffey, Conner and Carson Richardson.
