Richard Samuel Babcock

Richard Samuel Babcock, 68, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 27, 2013 at World Christian Church in Kannapolis. Pastor Wayne Laney will officiate. Graveside rites will be held at a later date in Patterson, NJ conducted by his pastor Rev. J. Rodney Quesenberry.

Mr. Babcock was born on October 22, 1944 in Haskill, NJ. He was a son of the late Richard Samuel Babcock and Sarah Elizabeth Kishpaugh Babcock. Before becoming disabled, Mr. Babcock was a taxi cab driver with Perry Taxi Company in Suffern, NY. He was a member of Broadus Baptist Church, Concord.

He is survived by son, Richard J. Babcock and wife Shelley of Concord; two daughters, Dawn Van Sise and husband Scott of Stony Point, NY and Linda Bryant and husband Ronnie of Salisbury; sister, Shirley Till of Concord; ten grandchildren, Mariah, Scotty, Brittany, Brendon, Wyatt, Timmy, Alysha, Geoffery, Jonathan and Petrina; great grandson, Braydan; three nephews, Steven Shannon, Paul Till and Charles Till and wife Susan; and one niece, Susan Liddell.
