Richard Junior Dixon

Mr. Richard Junior "Slick" Dixon, 75, passed away Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home in China Grove.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, September 26, 2025, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Burris and Rev. Frank Claytor will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Dixon was born December 12, 1949 in Hartsville, SC. He was a son of the late Wade Junior Dixon and Mary Haney Dixon. He enjoyed fishing and piddling with anything that had a motor. Slick loved spending time with his entire family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Corriher; and a brother, Robert Wayne Dixon.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Kathryn Scercy Dixon; five children, Scott Scercy and wife Jamie of Kannapolis, Shawn Scercy of China Grove, Shane Scercy and wife Jennifer of Rockwell, Joshua W. Dixon, and Lisa Smith and husband Kenneth, both of Manning, SC; sister, Shelia Waller of Salisbury; brother, Dennis Eugene Dixon of Kannapolis; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
