Richard Harry Fleming

Mr. Richard "Rick" Harry Fleming, 53, of Rainbow Drive, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. James Pauley and Rev. Don Draughn will officiate. The body will lie in-state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Rick was born May 18, 1958 in Concord. He was a son of the late Harry James Fleming and Ruby Watts Fleming Furr. He retired due to disability from Titcomb Construction in Charlotte. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He attended A.L. Brown High School. Rick loved to fish and enjoyed all sports especially NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Don McFarlin; and sister, Barbara Baucom.

Survivors include his wife, Arron "Penny" Watts Fleming; step-son, Timothy Lee Jones of Kannapolis; sister, Patricia McManus and her husband, Harold, of China Grove; brother, Denny Keaton of Kannapolis; step-father, William V. Furr of Albemarle; step-sister, Rhoda Seabolt of Georgia; two step-brothers, Rev. Rick McFarlin and Roger McFarlin, both of Georgia; and two step-grandchildren, Heather and Christina.
