Richard E. King, Sr.

Richard E. King, Sr., age 67, of Concord, NC, was promoted to Glory on Tuesday, June 3, 2003. He was born September 8, 1935 in Central Village, CT, to the late Ernest Milton King and Anna Suzik King. He loved his family dearly, he touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Muriel; his siblings, Bob of Plainfield, CT; Ronnie of Lincoln, NH; Betty Waszkiewicz of Danielson, CT; Rocky of Cranston, RI; Six children, Richard, Jr. of Danielson, CT; Arlette Moran of Charlotte, NC; Michael of Albuquerque, NM; Brian of Mooresville, NC; Lance of Linwood, NC; Kimberly of Salisbury, NC; and 11 grandchildren. Richard was a member of First Assembly of God, in Concord, where he taught the books of Daniel and Revelation. He furthered his ministry by privately counseling and comforting others within the Hospice outreach. Called an entrepreneur, Mr. King developed business skills that would relocate him multiple times until he settled in the Charlotte area in 1989. A Red Sox loving Yankee at heart, he was said to have never met a stranger. The family of Richard will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Thursday evening, June 5, 2003 at First Assembly Worship Center in Concord. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2003, at 10:00 AM at First Assembly Worship Center with Pastor Phil Bennett officiating.
