Rickey Lynn Walters

Rickey “Rick” Lynn Walters, 53, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, at his home in Kannapolis.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 3 at Lady’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Rev. Eddie Hodge will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mr. Walters was born March 30, 1962 in Kannapolis. He was the son of the late Harvey Lee Walters, Sr. and Lula Margaret Phillips Walters. He worked as a forklift operator for Baxter Harris. He was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Rick enjoyed collecting Volkswagens. He liked panning for gold and was a wine maker. Rick also liked glass blowing and was an avid collector.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Timothy “Eddie” Dale Walters and Harry Lee Walters, Jr.

Mr. Walters is survived by his daughter, Jillian W. Whitehead of Salisbury; sister Diane Correll and husband, Armand, of Kannapolis; and two grandchildren, Laura Elaine Carroll and Allison Lea Whitehead.
