Rita Marie Thomason

Ms. Rita Marie Melton Thomason, 60, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jenna Cloke will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 pm Saturday at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service.

Ms. Melton was born on February 6, 1953 in Concord. She was a daughter of the late Walter Melton and Helen Marie Grass Melton.

She is survived by three children, Mary Moon, Linda Church and Bruce Alexander Jenkins, all of Kannapolis; sister, Elizabeth Darlene Childers of Kannapolis; brother, Michael Richard Melton of Kannapolis; granddaughter, Sunny Moon; and three grandsons, Brent Church, Dustin Church, and Alex Jenkins.
