Robert Junior Kilgore

Mr. Robert Junior Kilgore, 70, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at CHS-NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William E. Moody will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Kilgore was born August 10, 1947 in Kannapolis. He was a son of the late Robert Lee Kilgore and Connie Mae Kilgore. He joined First Baptist Church in Kannapolis during his youth. He retired from the Kannapolis Police Department in 1994. He was involved in many sports including AAU basketball and baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Kilgore and Leonard Kilgore.

Mr. Kilgore is survived by two sisters, Brenda Joyce Kilgore of Kannapolis and Brenda Mae Holloway of Durham; two nieces, Tammy Kilgore and Latasha Brown and husband Rasheen; two nephews, Brian Holloway and wife Amaris and Jermaine Kilgore (Robert raised him like a son); and seven great nieces and nephews.
