Mr. Robert Clarence "R.C." Stafford, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Greg Sloop and Dr. Stan Welch will officiate. Interment will follow with Military Honors provided by the National Guard and the Rowan County Honor Guard at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Stafford was born March 24, 1931 in Rowan County. He was a son of the late Clarence Raymond Stafford and Mattie Jane Lewis Stafford. Mr. Stafford was married to the love of his life, and shared 71 beautiful years with her. R.C. served in the US Army from 1948 - 1951. He retired from Cannon Mills and loved to fish. His love of family was like no other. Family vacations, gathering around the table, and enjoying the outdoors. You could always find him with his family. He was the greatest story teller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Barnhardt; brothers, Earl, Grady and Marvin; and sisters, Maybelle, Louise and Margret.
Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife, Dotty Ball Stafford; three children, Stacey Barnhardt and husband Terry, Kyle Stafford and Melody May and husband Steve; sister, Claudette Purvis; and four grandchildren, who will forever be grateful for his love for them, Brittney Barnhardt, Taylor Welch and husband John, Reagan May and wife Samantha and Kandace Callaghan; great grandson, Walt Welch; and great granddaughter, Katie Callaghan.
