Ronald "Ron" Barry Daniel, Sr.

Mr. Ronald "Ron" Barry Daniel, Sr., 70, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Haltom, Rev. Willie Rash and Pastor Chris Daniel will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Daniel was born July 7, 1947 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late William "Bill" Toombs Daniel and Doris Coro Brooks Daniel. He was a lifelong member of Centerview Baptist Church. Earlier in his life, Ron worked for K-Town Furniture. He would later operate his own business for over 40 years as a finish carpenter and handyman. He enjoyed fishing and sports of all types including NASCAR, baseball and football. He loved woodworking at home and working on cars. Ron loved his family, especially God and his church family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Larry Daniel, Richard Daniel and Jackie Daniel; and a grandson, Christopher Shinn.

Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Gatton Daniel; five children, Ronnie Daniel, Jr. and wife Jenny of Landis, Glenda Daniel Shinn of Kannapolis, Jeff Poplin and wife Tab of Gillette, WY, Mike Poplin and wife Danette of Hickory and Tammi Brown and husband Todd of Concord; sister, Shirley Mauney of Oriental, NC; 10 grandchildren, Barry Daniel, Jeffrey Daniel, Heather Daniel, Scotty Shinn, Jr., Tyler Brown, Sydni Poplin, Haley Poplin, Niki Poplin, Isaac Poplin and Patience Poplin; and two great grandchildren, Savannah Shinn and Connor Brown.
