Ronald Alexander Buckwell

Ronald Alexander "Buck" Buckwell, 80, of Cline School Road, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House from renal and congestive heart failure.

A graveside service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012, in the cemetery at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was a member. Rev. Keith Brown will officiate. Military rites will be rendered by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:00 pm Sunday in the Parish Hall of the church.

Mr. Buckwell was born December 20, 1931 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Pete Moroney Buckwell and Rachel Hawsley Presson Buckwell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1, where he worked as an overhauler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daron Gray Buckwell, Sr. and his sister, Betty Buckwell Bost.

Ronald is survived by a brother, Jimmy Ray Buckwell and wife Cynthia of Mt. Pleasant; aunt, Margie Spry of Taylorsville; niece, Tamara Gray of Rockwell; four nephews, Chip, Randy, Kenny and Doug Buckwell; six great nieces, Ashleigh Gray, McKenna, Madison, Brookelynn, Elizabeth and Krista Buckwell; and four great nephews, Nicholas, Tyler, Hunter and Elijah Buckwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4500 Rimer Road, Concord, NC 28025 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
