Ronald Wayne Pickrel

Mr. Ronald Wayne Pickrel, 79, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Davidson.

A memoral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, August 14, 2022, at Eastwood Baptist Church. Rev. Randall Ritchie will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:00 pm Sunday at Eastwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Pickrel was born November 30, 1942 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Clyde Pickrel and Lila McWaters Pickrel. He enjoyed raising chickens, going fishing, and working in the yard. Ronald loved animals, especially his dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Scotty Sanders and Ronald W. Pickrel, Jr.

Mr. Pickrel is survived by his wife, Peggy Carolyn Basinger Pickrel; daughter, Tammy Honbarger and husband Junior of Salisbury; son, Donald Pickrel and wife Amanda of Mocksville; sister, Terri Lamb and husband Jimmy of Concord; five grandchildren, Jill Broome and husband Shannon, Ashley Straight, Aletha Gonzalez (Andrew Howard), Brandon Honbarger and Stephanie Honbarger; 15 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Eastwood Baptist Church, 320 Cook Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
