Mr. Ronald Jefferson Ward, 70, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at his residence.
A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, June 2, 2017, at the Historic National Cemetery on Railroad Street in Salisbury. Dr. Scott Farthing will officiate. Interment will follow at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Statesville Boulevard.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Ward was born February 27, 1947 in Kannapolis. He was the son of the late Lonnie Jefferson Ward and Ettawa Strickland Ward. He worked as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Marines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Brenda Scarborough.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Sheila “Robin” Ward; daughters, Annette Fullam and husband Alan of Landis and Amanda Ward of Salisbury; sister, Claudette Overcash of Mooresville; grandson, Justin Fullam and wife Ashley of Salisbury; and four great grandchildren, Mariah Fullam, Jewel Patterson, Brook Upright and Pearl Fullam.
